FIELD NOTES / TOPIC

Confirmations.

A confirmation count describes depth relative to an observed active chain, not a universal guarantee or customer-service deadline. Learn to distinguish pending observation, block inclusion, and the separate requirements a receiving service may apply to your payment.

An explorer reports chain inclusion and depth from its source’s viewpoint. A receiving business decides how that observation fits its own crediting policy; the browser cannot inspect its private ledger.
