LTC / NATIVE COIN / PUBLIC NETWORK

Litecoin. Native by nature.

Understand native LTC, its units, and the difference between the Litecoin blockchain and an asset carrying a similar ticker elsewhere.

Litecoin is a blockchain network, and LTC is its native coin. People often search for “Litecoin LTC token,” but native LTC is not an Ethereum-style contract token. A representation on another chain needs its own asset, issuer, and network checks. Start with the exact network before trusting a familiar symbol.

Protocol facts

Litecoin’s mainnet configuration targets 150 seconds between blocks and specifies a subsidy-halving interval of 840,000 blocks. These are protocol parameters, not a guaranteed schedule for your next payment. The Litecoin Core network parameters provide the underlying configuration.

One LTC contains 100,000,000 base units, commonly called litoshis. The familiar protocol supply limit is 84 million LTC. The Core amount definitions document the unit scale and monetary bound. A maximum supply is not a current measurement of circulating, spendable, or market-available coins.

Follow a native Litecoin payment

A transparent transaction spends existing outputs and creates new ones. Its outputs may include a recipient payment, change, or several recipients. An explorer’s total output value therefore does not necessarily equal the amount one person received. Open the exact transaction and identify the relevant destination rather than guessing from a summary figure.

Use the transaction browser to follow records from a recent block. To look up an arbitrary identifier, the browser provides a clearly labeled link to an independent explorer. This website has no wallet connection, signing workflow, or data-entry forms.

Separate network success from account credit

A confirmation describes a transaction’s place in an observed chain. It does not tell you whether a receiving exchange has completed its own account-crediting process. A service may have confirmation requirements, deposit minimums, maintenance windows, or unsupported features. Its private accounting is outside a public explorer’s view.

Keep the transaction identifier and the deposit instructions you followed. Those records are more useful to support than a cropped screenshot of an unexplained balance. Never provide a recovery phrase or private key to someone offering to investigate a public payment.

Read the coin-versus-token guide

A familiar ticker can refer to different assets in different systems. Native LTC, a wrapped representation, and an internal exchange balance are not interchangeable records. The complete LTC identification guide walks through the distinctions and explains how to select the correct explorer before investigating a transfer.
